The Last Day

We added a special last day to the exhibition and it was the first time the museum had a Sunday opening for ten years. It was emotional knowing we will never see this in this form again, but what a few months, well attended and previous lives re-lived. Thank you everyone - it couldn't have happened with out you.

As it says on the poster

David Stopps symbolically locking up shop to signify the end of the exhibition.

It was great to see legendary Friars security man Neil Smart showing he has lost none of his skills!

There was also a section on Mark Jordan's personal Friars experiences Photos used with the permission of  Mark Jordan

There were a few guided tours on the last day.

Steve Rothery of Marillion came for the last day (as did Pete Trewavas)

The younger generation being shown what REAL music is about and what we had in this sleepy market town.

It was brilliant to see Geoff Nicholson from East of Eden who played Friars many times in the early days becoming one of their favourite gigs.

Great to see Nck Heyward who played Friars in 1984.

Nick Beggs who played Friars with Art Nouveau and Kajagoogoo

Vivian and Robin Symons. Vivian's piece of Bowie's shirt from THAT gig in 1972 was a popular part of the exhibition and led to her being interviewed by the BBC.

Keith Martin, Friars member number one.

That's all folks!
