Friars website introductions

Mike O'Connor

Founder and Webmaster of Friars website

Thank you for making this massive

I've taken the opportunity to refresh the website again and there's even more info on all the support bands and more audio/video links. Some of the stuff is really good and some not......

Since my last ramblings, Friars Aylesbury Phase Three closed and Friars reopened as Phase Four at the shiny Waterside Theatre.

What a way to go though at the Civic, the most in demand gig ever for the last night and queues right through the Market Square. Paul Weller played a blinder, the boy done good as they say. We could have sold it out many times over.

But Friars rebirth has seen some amazing gigs. I was blown away by The Pretty Things who were so good. SLF coming home to a rammed crowd was incredible and the Kid Creole/China Crisis gig was so good, why didn't it sell out?

Two gigs in the new theatre so far and a new set of problems with the running of the venue now out of council hands. Despite that, two interesting and very contrasting gigs with the Buzzcocks and Hawkwind.

Long may we reign and conquer.

To re-iterate again, there are many people without whom I would never have got going with this website, they know who they are – thank you.

Send this to your friends and link to your sites just to show people how great this place was out in the sticks in the Home Counties which is still held in great affection nearly 43 years after it all started..
