memories

Tim Hinkley: "I have some vague recollections of playing at Friars but it was a long time ago and its all a bit of a haze !"

odds and trivia
Possibly named after 1966 Horace Silver Quintet's "The Jody Grind" LP ?

Bassist Louis Cennamo who played in The Herd was part of a pre-Jody Grind band with Tim Hinkley. Cennamo then played Friars with Renaissance in 1969 and Illusion years later. He was also part of Coliseum alongside Friars hero Dave Greenslade. Around this period, he was part of a post - Jody Grind band alongside Zagni and Wilson. Cennamo was also part of Steamhammer who played Friars in 1971. He has made further records with Jim McCarty (Renaissance/Illusion)

Tim Hinkley also played with Vinegar Joe (with Elkie Brooks and Robert Palmer)

what happened?
Jody Grind: Tim Hinkley's CV reads like a definitive Who's Who having gone on to work with Van Morrison, Dr Feelgood and Whitesnake amongst others. These days Tim lives in Switzerland, has worked in TV and his Tim Hinkley trio gig in Switzerland. Ivan Zagni continues to make music, seemingly now in New Zealand
