The band seemed to be on a permanent hiatus
having not performed since 1992. As for Lydon, well he caused a wonderful
furore as the star turn of ITV reality show I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out
Of Here, for which the producers clearly deserve no credit for knowing
what would happen. Martin Atkins teaches in the US.
The hiatus was broken when PIL toured the UK in December 2009 and they
also played UK gigs in 2012 along with a new album. Lydon has said that
his unlikely appearance in a butter advert helped finance the reunion
