what happened next
Elton John went on to become one of Britain's most successful and flamboyant performers and apart from becoming chairman of Watford Football Club in the 1970/1980s where he helped put them on the map, he still plays stadium shows in 2015. Olsson and Johnstone are still part of his band. Elton was knighted in 1988 

Linda Lewis is still going strong with a CV that boasts a who's who of the rock world

There was a bomb scare at this gig which resulted in the venue being evacuated. David Stopps had the unenviable task of walking on to the stage and whispering into Elton's ear, mid-song, to leave the building
